Well after over ten months of planning, my big adventure to Churchill, Manitoba Canada is just two weeks away. I will be leaving Milwaukee on 11/1/08, arriving in Winnipeg which will serve as the connection point to Churchill Nature Tours. We will fly from Winnipeg to Churchill the morning of Sunday 11/2/08 and will spend four days and three nights in the Polar Bear Capital of the World.While in Churchill, we will be staying at the Aurora Inn and will go out for two full days on the tundra via the tundra buggies of Great White Bear Tours. Tour group members will also have a one hour helicopter tour of Churchill and the Hudson Bay area. We've been told we'll have some time on our own to visit the Eskimo Museum in town as well as to plan for some individual activities including dog mushing with a local sled dog kennel. My fingers are crossed that we will be blessed with the aurora borealis, aka the northern lights, for at least one night while in Churchill. Our adventure will end back in Winnipeg the evening of Wednesday 11/5/08 with a finale dinner and farewell.
